To limit environmental exposure to antibiotics in veterinary medicine treatments
Many antibiotics are used in both humans and animals. As part of the One Health approach, the Veterinary Medicines Monitoring Committee, attached to the Director of Anses-ANMV, has just published an article on the impact of antibiotics on the environment.
Its aim is to raise awareness among practitioners of the levers of action in the use of veterinary antibiotics in order to limit their impact on the environment. The various sources of contamination of the environment by antibiotics used in veterinary medicine have been identified, followed by a reminder on the lines of control of this contamination (limitation of the quantities administered and excreted, effluent management, waste water treatment and good practices).
